Spanish Residence Permit for Entrepreneurs
Since 2013, Spain has been actively attracting new entrepreneurs, notably with the enactment of a law in December 2022 that created a legal foundation and support for innovative businesses. This move has made the country even more attractive for startups, offering a startup visa that provides long-term residence and work for foreigners with business ideas. The visa allows stays from one to five years, covering not only the entrepreneur but also their family, and paves the way to citizenship. Key requirements include being of legal age, having a valid passport, no criminal record, possessing medical insurance, and adequate financial resources.
The advantages of the startup visa include the ability to legally reside and work in Spain, access to a path to citizenship, only requiring a business plan, no upper age limit, and a transparent application process. The visa also does not require investment in real estate or shares and can lead to citizenship even if the business is unsuccessful.

The application process includes submitting documents, among which are a business plan that demonstrates financial capability and presents an idea that contributes to the economic development of Spain. After approval, obtaining the visa takes just 2-3 months, granting the right to live and work in the country, making Spain's startup visa program especially attractive for innovative entrepreneurs.
